Abstract	A reconnaissance level inventory of irrigation conveyance systems in the Bear River Basin was conducted during part of 1973 and 1974. Information was obtained through interviews with local company officials field interviews and soil conservation service files. This inventory includes data concerning company organization, present condition, use, problems and needs of conveyance systems, as well as possible solutions to system problems. It does not include information on individual or group on-farm ditches. Water rights were not studied in detail. No attempt was made to determine the legality of water diversions shown nor the accuracy of water right data obtained. The present condition of the company irrigation systems was evaluated according to irrigation efficiencies, area served, water source, condition of canals and structures, and method of delivery. The related problems of seepage losses, sedimentation, and floodwater damages were then studied. Potential solutions include reorganization and consolidation, lining, new structures, storage and regulating reservoirs, floodways, and debris basins. High altitude ams photographs were used as base maps. Maps with overlays were prepared at a scale of one inch equals one mile for the areas served by irrigation companies. Map delineations for "areas served" show irrigation company delivery obligations but may include small tracts of non-irrigated land. The maps show only an overview and relationships of irrigation company systems. A mosaic of the areas served was made at a scale of 1:250,000 and reduced to approximately one inch equals twelve miles for this paper. The paper was prepared as part of the requirements in the Bear River Basin Type IV Study Plan of Work Activity II A9b.
