Abstract	The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation, in 1977 acquired 64 acres of land on the south shore of Bear Lake for a new state park. The Division hopes to obtain 311 surrounding acres, making the total facility 275 acres. Because of the historic gatherings of mountain men and Indians on this site, it will be called, in this study, Rendezvous Park. The design role of landscape architecture is to enhance the inherent qualities of the site and through sound planning, allow the ever-increasing number of users to enjoy the site without encountering user conflicts or causing environmental damage.
