8.2.6 Lighting
8.2.6.1 General Criteria
These design standards apply to arterial roads and at grade
intersections with two or more traffic lanes both directions.
These road sections have median areas that are a maximum
of 20 ft. to a minimum of 16 ft. wide with a 7 ft wide
nose at the intersection. All such roadway drawings are
to be approved by the DRC and the City of Las Vegas to
comply with and become a set standard for this project.
8.2.6.2 General Lighting Code
All street lights shall be standardized throughout the
project. All design standards call for consistent
appearance in color, shape, material and illumination at
grade intersections and will be properly illuminated to
meet IES standards (Illumination Engineers Society).
Light levels will be decreased as you move away from intersections. The design intent with lighting along these
roadways will be of a minimal light level and not a
■
continual light level. Lighting criteria will include
concrete poles with cut-off non-glare light fixtures. All
lighting will be directed downward and must avoid glare to
surrounding parcels.
Lighting standards for various common areas that connect
to these roads shall be consistent in design, appearance
and type of light source. The pole size and amount of
illumination should decrease along lower traffic volume
