Description	The Secretary of the United States Department of the Interior, acting through the Bureau of Reclamation, is considering whether to implement a proposed action under which the Flaming Gorge Dam would be operated to achieve the flow and temperature regimes recommended in the September 2000 report Flow and temperature recommendations for endangered fishes in the Green River downstream of Flaming Gorge Dam, published by the Upper Colorado River Endangered Fish Recovery Program. The recommendations specifically describe the peak flows, durations, water temperatures, and base flow criteria recommended to protect and assist in the recovery of endangered fish species. A draft environmental impact assessment of which this document is an executive summary, has been prepared pursuant to the National Environment Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), and the Council on Environmental Quality and Department of the Interior regulations implementing NEPA. The DEIS adresses the environmental issues associated with, and analyses the environmental consequences of, the one action alternative determined to meet purpose and need, as well the no action alternative.
