Mr. Glen Smith
U. S. Forest Service
Dear Glen and Mrs. Smith:
A short letter to let you know that when fellows like
you retire, it makes a lot of us look at our longevity
record and reassess our plans for the future. The years
roll along pretty fast and, much sooner than we think,
we find ourselves ready to step into a new role in life.
I'm sure, Glen, that you feel a deep sense of satisfaction
for the work you have perforated while in the Forest Service.
I've heard nothing but good about it, and a lot of folks
have looked to you for counsel and advice in your special
field. Your assignments have been jobs well done.
The future now is new and unburdened with daily assignments.
With your outlook in life, I'm sure you will enjoy it and
probably wind up busier than ever. It's an exciting future.
Dolly and I wish for you and Mrs. Smith many happy years
of retirement. We hope, too, that our paths cross again,
even more frequently than they have done in the past.
