Interviews were recorded using a Radio Shack Cassette Recorder: CTR-122 and Radio Shack
Microphone: 23-3013. Transcriptions were completed using Express Scribe software. Conversion of audio tapes to digital files was completed using either a Mitsubishi Cassette Deck DT-156 or Onkyo TA-RW313 Cassette Deck via the preamp and sound card using Sound Forge 8 software. They were recorded at a 44,100 Hz sample rate, 16 bit Mono and saved for CD audio. Files were rendered into mp2-layer3 (mp3) files and saved as 22,050 Hz, 16 bit samples in Mono (56kbps). Files were archived onto gold CDs as CD audio in 44,100 Hz, 16 bit stereo format.
