Tomorrow the people of Utah will go to the poles to select
the next G-ovemor of Utah* As one of the candidate for this office,
1 have tried to keep myself above petty political arguments, in order
that the voters of this State would not be confused with the true
issues which to me are for more important to the Welfare of Utah
than the election of any one individual. I have no fight with
my opponent as an individual. I grant him the same right to his
views on the conduct of State Government as I expect him to grant to
me. He represents one philosophy and 1 stand for another. He ha s
conducted the State government as he undoubtedly believed to be
right. I disagree with his philosophy and certainly he must
disagree with mine, te cause he has run the State government for the
pastfour years in sach a manesr that in my opinion every one in
Utah gxarairi has been airectly injured, with the possiole exception
of those few who have enriched themselves at public expense.
It ha.s always been my opinion that government should 'be run
for the benefit of all the people, regardless of political belief
of economic standing, but my opponent by his actions has shown
that his own personal welfare as well as that of his political friencfe
is of greater importance. To me there is only one issue and that is
shall all of the people of Utah recieve benefits from there
government or shall we continue to permit a few men to enrich them
selves at public expense. Do you want to believe the facts which
are so self evident to all or do you want to listen to a man like
Gorden Taylor Hyde ifeo has been holding his position in our State
Government contrary to law, and individual who has oeen enriching
himself by selling Gravel to, the State of Utah contrary to law, and
#io stands to gain personally by the election of the present
governor. Isn't It reasonable to believe that all of his high
