Description	The interview contains information on Fred Wagner's childhood, moving around the nation, and interest in the outdoors. He discusses his goal to be a rancher and his experience working as a cowboy where he realized his interest in plants and animals. He then discusses his education at Southern Methodist University (SMU) and later at the University of Wisconsin (where Aldo Leopold was a professor, arriving shortly after his death). He discusses his views on the interface of science and policy, and his experience with such throughout his career doing scientific research.;
