1927 City Council meeting minutes

              Minutes For Year 1927.
Minutes of council meeting held Jan. 5th. 1927,
Mayor, J.C. Sorensen,took charge of meeting and presented business.
Members of council present were, Wm. R.Hughes, Jens Jensen, Edgar Hancock,
Marshal and recorder.
Bills for approval were as follows. Henry Staffer, Store, for Nails
63 [cents], Road Bills, Wm.Buist,Six hrs. team. $3.75, A.W.richards,four hrs. team
$2.00 Bills were approved.
Discussion of the auditing ofMendon City's Books for 1926,
Mayor, was commisioned to secure an auditor to audit these records,
Piscussion of adjusting store and other licenses in the city,
This buisness to be carried over untill next month,q
Talk of having Sexton take care of cemetary and how to pay him,
mayor given athority to take care of this.
Some more bills for approval were as follows, To E.J.hancock.
for plumming $11.65, Afton Bird, plummers helper, $5.00,
Road work, Wm.Buist, with team, $10.00, Gilbert Muir, $5.00f

Mayor J.C.Sorensen,took charge of buisness.
Members of council present were,Wm.R.Hughes, Jens Jensen, Edgar Hancock,
and Recorder, Wayne Willie,
Bills for approval were as follows, To the Budge Clinic.37.00,
To Thos.Muir,$2.80, 7An.Buist,$5.00,
The resignation of Henery Stauffer,AS a member of the city council
was accepted.
There has been a gravel contract drawn up and signed by tha
proper parties,Vis— between Mendon city and Hannah Buist,for a two year
lease on a piece of land to be used for gravling purposes. 350.00,
a year to be paid for this lease.
