Transcript	steamer henry chauncy caribbean sea may 17th 1867 my dear father i am now on the bosom of the deep blue sea floating surely along the fragrant balmy air of the tropics dispels the intense heat of the which however on the sea is hardly felt the thermometer throughout the day ranges at about 105 in the coolest part of the ship but oh how very different from the sultry scorching heat of the land indeed so far from being oppressive it is highly invigorating and indeed i love the balmy sea-breeze it is not until a person has recovered from a spell of sea-sickness having been confined for several days to his berth that he really enjoys a voyage by sea yesterday we passed through the
