Transcript	new york july 29 1865 my dear young friend your letter of july 23 has just reached me forwarded from washington to this place or stage in my summer excursion and i hasten to reply however briefly as far as i can tell by your description the hawks referred to must have been ictinia missippiensis although the locality is far out of its usual range 2 is probably chordeiles popetue or true night hawk as distinguished from whipporwill 3 may be one of several thrushes 4 regulus satrapa 5 oporornis formasus kentucky warbler its egg wanted 6 dendroica coronata 7 coturniculus passerinus
