Christmas Party Tonight
The highlights of Utah Cooperative Association's social calendar takes place
tonight with our annual Christmas party
for all employees and their partners.
Festivities begin at 7:00 p.m. at Rustic
Acres located at 10600 South and 7th
East with a delicious steak supper being
served promptly at 7:30 p.m.   (Suggestion:   Drive out on 9th East or State St.,
7th East does not go straight through.)
Special guests will include Mr. Ernest R. Behling, President of UCA.   Always a gala affair, this year's party promises to be full of more surprises and
fun than usual.   A snappy program, consisting mostly of UCA talent, will follow
the meal with dancing to live music scheduled later.
"Any speeches are guaranteed to be
short and we promise no dull moments -
just five hours of nothing but fun", declared Harry Fern, chairman of the Xmas
committee, which includes Henry Hansen,
Rose Johnson and Mike Buchanan.
Employees Adopt New
Medical Insurance
A new major medical plan was recently adopted by employees of UCA and Uinta
Oil Refining Company which promises to
offer greater benefits than the previous
Farmers Union policy, according to John
Carr, UCA's treasurer.
The new plan, a $25 deductible policy,
is offered by the Lincoln National Life
Insurance Company.   Under this plan,
employees pay the first $25 for any medical needs.   After the initial expense, the
company will pay the next $500 completely and from $500 until the insurance company has paid a total of $10,000, it will
pay 80% of all costs while the employee
pays only the remaining 20%.
Mr. Carr points out that the premiums
on the new policy are lower than originally anticipated.   He said the monthly
costs are $3.37 for one employee and
$11.09 for an employee and his family.
It was originally estimated that the costs
would be $3.50 and $11. 60.
