JUNE, 1958
VOL. 1, NO. 6
In a constant effort to keep up supply
with the demand of PAX Crabgrass & Soil Pest
Control, the management of Utah Cooperative
Association took an $11,000 step recently
and ordered a new Ribbon Blender Mixer which
will be in operation within the next two
months, reported Robert K. Reilly, warehouse foreman.
The new equipment will be housed in the
part of the plant that held the seed clean-?
ing machinery heretofore. This new mixer
has a minimum output of 30 tons per 7 hour
shift and can nearly double that at full
capacity. This means that we will be able
to produce somewhere between three and six
times as much PAX as before the new installation. Other advantages will be elimination of most of the dust problem and more
convenient working conditions for those men
working on the mixer.
It would be an educational and interesting tour for every one of us to go out and
watch this new plant in operation after production begins.
The distribution of PAX continues to
grow with the same speed that crabgrass discontinues to grow when PAX is used. If you
remember, in the last issue of the VACUUM
we mentioned that PAX was then being distributed in 39 of the 48 states and we proceeded to name them. Now, a month later,
PAX has invaded three more states so that it
is now much easier to list the States NOT
on the PAX distribution schedule than the
other 42 states. Only Florida, Georgia,
Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, and
Vermont are not yet blessed with PAX Crabgrass and Soil Pest Control,
This national coverage job is handled
through ninety-four distributors throughout
the United States.
UCA GETTING "NEW LOOK"
Improvements galore are underway at the
Utah Co-op Association Building which include a new paint job, both inside and out,
complete landscaping around the building,
blacktopping of parking and driving areas,
and improved protection facilities. As those
in the office already know, the painting is
now completed and UCA now«%hines" with a new
green coat for spring. Also the ADT burglar
alarm system installation is completed and in
operation. Yet to be accomplished is the exterior beautification around the building and
grounds. Trees, shrubs, sidewalks, and more
lawn, will adorn the entrance in front of
the building and asphalt blacktopping will
cover the parking area, the driveway alongside the building, and the dock loading
area in the rear. We will indeed have cause
to be proud of our premises when the project
is completed.
If you wonder why some of the UCA faces
are smiling more often nowadays, it might be
that they were purchasers of Western States
Refinery stock. It's been going up of late.
