Basins of the Columbia River and the Colorado River are drawn in red, with Pacific and Atlantic drainages indicated. Other details include counties, state lines, latitude and longitude, current rivers and lakes, and the former locations of two prehistoric lakes, Lake Bonneville and Lake Lahontan. The top right margin is marked: Lake Bonneville Pl. II. Map colors are blue, red, and black on ivory paper. Printed by Julius Bien & Co. lith. Dimensions of original map: 10.5 x 7 inches.
