The Fifes recorded many of her songs; a finding aid for these songs is found at Fife Folklore Archives, Folk Coll 4, FMC Ser. 1, Vol. 7. The autobiography of this folksinger was published by Utah State University Press under the title "Out of the Black Patch: the autobiography of Effie Marquess Carmack, folk musician, artist, and writer" in 1999.
