Reflection:
As this election has come and gone I have really just reflected on the way other people have reacted to it. It honestly has been really disappointing to me to see the way that people have reacted to the election, the riots and outbursts, refusing to accept Donald Trump as the new President. While I know that it most likely would have happened on the republican side if Hilary Clinton had won as well, it still pains me to see so many friends divided and taking these extreme actions. They say that this is what happens when you have a 'man full of hate' for our next President, but I know many people that reacted in similar fashion when Obama became President. They use their own perception of Donald Trump as some kind of excuse to act out in a way that is usually socially unacceptable. As I've reflected about this, I'm caused to think that we as a nation can do better, that we can come together. The old saying goes 'United we stand, divided we fall'. It couldn't be more applicable then I think it is right now with the current election.
